Our initial contact will involve some questions that I will ask you in order to clarify your needs. Then, we will get together for a no cost , no-obligation personal consultation so that we can assess the situation even further. If you decide to utilize my services, I will write up a Customer Brief. This will define your needs, the timeline we agree to, the financial terms, etc. After we both sign the contract, and the first payment is made, I will begin work on your site. There are many options available to you regarding the creation or "re-creation" of your web site.
Following is a list of some of my skills and my preferred tools of choice, if applicable:
- Web Design: Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, Microsoft Expression Web (this is replacing Frontpage)
- Graphics: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks
- Animation: Adobe Flash
- Page Layouts - Fixed vs. Liquid: My preference of choice with page layouts is "tables". I do have liquid layouts, which will become the future (or so we are told) if the very messy browser issues are dealt with. I'm continuing to learn more about these layouts, which use CSS positioning.
- Personal text editing, consultation regarding your site's marketing strategy (i.e. understanding what "Above the Fold" means), and compression & manipulation of your site's images/photos are also available.
- Maintenance Instruction: I will teach you how to use Microsoft Contribute to manually edit your site's text so that you don't have to rely on me for minor maintenance. Contribute is set up to enable you to make changes that won't distort the layout in any way.
Options Regarding the Types of Jobs I will Consider:
- One-page site to Multi-page site (no job is too small)
- Site created using an already existing Dreamweaver or Expression Web Template (inexpensive option).
- Site created from scratch using simple navigation (no rollover navigation images)
- Sites created from scratch using rollover navigation images, and custom designed buttons, symbols, logos, etc.
- Sites created using the Spry drop down and fly out menus.
